Yeah, seems impossible to fly an AirBus out of ElDorado!
Isn't like there are any entire airlines operating out of there with ... nevermind.

The new, close-in Virgin announcement is what makes me suspicious. If DL bean-counters found a (cheaper) partner slot for the feed on what was looking as questionable or sub-optimal ROI equipment change (given delivery delays, opportunity cost. yield changes with equipment swap, etc, etc), it seems a candidate for a walk-back.
Do we so quickly forget the fanfare they announced BOS-MEX on DL metal then quietly pulled it in favor of AeroMexico metal after the US government upgraded AeroMexico?
You can disagree with my skepticism, but when a partner announces a “potential replacement” route that has tons of seats and would depress JV yields if done in parallel with proposed (and not yet executed) forced DL metal up-gauging to accommodate a lack of available “right-sized” airframes for the market, all in a soft demand, high cost, scarce airframe scenario … it makes me very suspicious.

DL announced the up-gauging well in advance (spring for a fall effective date) to coincide with the planned post summer ‘24 763 drawdown for some airframe retirements.

They even do Boston from Bogota with the Neo. Buenos Aires too, a shade under 3090 miles. Are we about to start another "Neo sucks" thread?
Had an FO who flew the Neo for LATAM, they use them all around South America.

Their payroll is much smaller than ours. Can they leave seats empty that we can’t and make a profit still?

Not a clue. Fact of the matter is BOG is canned and I don't see it coming back, fares were extremely low. Doesn't matter what plane we have, Central/South American flying is tough outside of major business markets due to low costs at Copa/GOL/LATAM/Avianca. I just don't want another five pages of arguing about the Neo.
