Wait, how can that be? They can't award positions that weren't posted or opened via backfill, and I don't see any downgrades. Are you counting base transfers and bypasses in your 91?

Bypasses are part of it (9 of the 10). But go count for yourself. There is no mechanism in the PWA to award base transfer only and exclude it from any posted total. There are 36 WB A base transfers which are not bypasses, which is not the difference anyway.

This depends on the type of bypass, a voluntary bypass is done at the request of the pilot and requires that all pilots senior to then also be bypassed (22.E.13.a). A mandatory bypass is done at the discretion of the company and can only be done if all pilots older than the bypassed pilot with the same training requirements are also bypassed (22.E.13.b.). For the last several years nearly all bypasses awarded have been mandatory, if you are senior to a bypassed pilot but also younger, then you likely will not be pay protected.

Still early. This is just the first WB A bid after the Summer break. Lots of deliveries on the way. The WB A wall will likely fall by Fall 25 when the 350-1000 positions are posted. However, a Darkhorse wall fall could be THIS Fall if sizable WB A positions are posted with possible training over the Holidays.

I think you’re way too optimistic. Deliveries don’t mean growth. It’s no secret that the 767’s are going away. It seems the growth is over for awhile. Would be complete stagnation for awhile if not for retirements. Those of us hired pre 2014 know the drill.

we have 45 WBs on order and 43 763s. Even if you assume they will all be parked with no more orders, that’s still a lot of movement to the highest pay rate. When you factor in that at least some 763 block hours on transcons will likely be replaced by NEOs, it would suggest international growth.
