And heart disease kills more women than breast cancer. The breast cancer folks are definitely more robust and organized.

I was making a joke about the FOM and wear guidelines.... seems like FOM said wear the hat too but the FOM didn't matter in that regard. The question had been answered. Seems like my joke about the FOM hit a little too close to home. I'll wear my lime green tie with a white "Herm the sperm"(prostate) or possibly a brown tootsie rolls(colon) to show my solidarity for men's/women's health care/cancer under representation.
Maybe I'll start a prostate cancer foundation in retirement. So many avenues for jokes here but they would be............political. (Not belittling breast cancer, pink ties/scarves)

Well, I stand corrected. 300,000 breast cancer and 288,000 prostate cancer this year. However colon/rectal cancer kills the most this year

They spend half of donations on education, 5% on research, 5% on treatment and 3% on screening. The balance is for administrative and fundraising,
The high admin and fundraising costs would keep them from meeting our grant criteria. BCRF on the other hand only consumes 16% for fundraising and admin, leaving a full 84% for the intended recipients.

I'd argue that discussion of the efficiency among different charities warrants discussion. Comparing the merits of different charities helps donors determine the best recipient of their contributions. Just like researching a car before buying or reading restaurant reviews, a little research can improve the outcome.
