Basically what was going on was junior pilots were getting GS (via IA calls) that should have been available to the more senior. It used to be that IA calls were extremely rare and the most junior pilots didn't even bother putting in a GS request. And everyone can specify DO NOT CALL hours. I use DNC 2am to 6am.

I have mixed feelings on the whole thing. The trip coverage ladder has ****ed me off for years. The last thing on there is inverse assignment. IA’s having been going out for years. The company just pretends the GSWC step isn’t there. I feel like the company has been abusing this section with rerouted for as long as I’ve been here. They can’t even get the ARCOS awards right. I once accepted an award for it to time out because scheduling never pushed it to the acknowledge step. This should be automatic. I waited almost 30 minutes today for an award notification after my arcos window closed.
The 23.M.7 should have been limited to report time in my opinion. If it’s report time and trip not covered, then do 23M7. 8 hours prior is way too much time to jump the coverage.
I don’t have a problem with unlimited Arcos sizes. I personally will just change the dates when I know I’m not going to work to save myself the phone calls. Obviously 23M7 probably isn’t goin go be used as much with new restriction and now that there’s 2 days in advance to cover trips.

23.M.7 usage was a major change to status quo. It was never intended nor used like that in the past. We should have gotten more for this settlement. That’s for sure.

I'm not thrilled with the agreement but I'm happy it appears they are back to using ARCOS and not shotgun IA calls. I will not sit in hold and beg for a trip that may or may not have been called. In fact, I did it twice only to get "it's already been covered." For a trip I never even got a GS call for and would have been probably close to first in line.

No no, I'm told that only the pilots can do something that's consider a change in the status quo. 🙄

22. Regular pilots who can be assigned without conflict (in category, in inverse seniority order)
23. Reserve pilots on X-day(s) who can be assigned with conflict (in category, in inverse seniority order)
24. Regular pilots who have submitted GSWCs (by proffer, in category, in seniority order)
25. Out-of-base pilots who have submitted GSWCs (by proffer, in seniority order)
26. Regular pilots who can be assigned with conflict (in category, in inverse seniority order)
Nice that there is two step 22's.
