I just checked for the pricing for a trip from SLC to MUC on Nov 5th. Primium Economy is $2177 for most combinations, but Business (Polaris) on the itinerary that connects in ORD is $1454. Domestic travel is FC. On Delta for the same itinerary SLC to MUC Business "For Less" is $10,178 and "Even Less" is $9035. If one has United privlages why would you even consider wasting your time looking at Delta?

IT has always been Delta's weak spot. In the run up to Y2K I think there was serious panic in the C suite. The CrowdStrike melt down is evidence that Delta under invests in IT. CroudStrike was the catalyst that trigered the melt down, but those who had their house in order were back to normal operations in 24 hours. I think it's pretty gutsy to blame CrowdStrike for five days of chaos.

Since you are retired, you probably haven’t seen Ed’s internal explanation for why DL had actually invested more than others in the IT that affected us. I’m no fan of Ed, or our pathetic and lackluster IT, but in this case it seems Ed has a fair point about Crowdstrike.

Perhaps, but it seems to me regardless of the explanation, if Delta is exposed to any event that takes longer than a few hours to start to get under control there is a weakness that should not exisit and that is on those who occupy the C suite.

I get that, and it’s absolutely a fair point, but there’s more complexity and nuance (and blame) to Crowdstrike than it might seem.

So the new non-rev benefits where we can have 4 buddies buy confirmed for less tickets as long as it’s on the same PNR as ours, or our companion/spouse means we also have to buy a confirmed ticket… this seems very pointless and greedy of management to squeeze profit out of employees anyway they can. Taking away more and more benefits from the employees with out any negotiations.

i don’t see myself using this. All my “buddies” live in UAL or AA bases. The fly for less is also sometimes more expensive than what’s listed on delta or doesn’t reflect the 20% discount to what’s shown online
