I'll reiterate that I'm opting out. I'm glad I am. My spill cash should be mine, and mine alone, to decide what to do with. I'll happily take the tax hit to still have control of my money.

It just stinks that we pay ALPA dues on a negotiated company-funded retirement benefit.

agreed. I'm no ALPA apologist, especially after the 190K bar tab fiasco

Did you see the Form 990 ALPA filed for 2022, with how much compensation Officers/Directors/etc are compensated? Joe Depete got $1.2M last year. A Former General Manager got nearly $.73M

Maybe if they spent $200k we wouldn’t have had to deal with Depete.

But let's say I make 400k a year (which would take a healthy amount of work and I'm lazy currently). Anything over 330k generates spill cash at 18% in this contract. So that's 12.6k. Less when the IRS progressively raises that 330k limit as they do every year.
Yeah I am sure that 25 years from now, things will be exactly as they are now. Glad you have it all figured out.

So as a 350A/LCA, what’s the gripe? You have the option of deferring taxes and ALPA dues/Medicare/SS…. Or your want to complain otherwise instead of investing the excess . Seriously- what’s your deal?! Pick a position and support it. This is reality, deal with it. And yea, when I go 350B and you are the LCA, I’ll say the same. My username pretty well lines up… what do you say “Jamesbond”?

If you want to fly to 67, state it.

If you need the money, say it.

Nobody cares, but everyone sees it. Own it.

BlackRock are the activist investors. That’s the problem because what they may or may not decide to invest in will affect my money and they aren’t shy about their methodology.
