Idk I came from the regionals. I love being on the bus. The flying is so f-ing easy. I’d rather have more days off than longer layovers, which are still longer than the regionals for the most part. I love it, to each their own though.

I found that optimization changed my trips to have longer days and shorter overnights while replacing credit with block and not adding a meaningful amount of time off. It has gotten way harder to adjust my schedule as well, so I’ve got that going for me too. Which is nice.

It’s also the largest fleet by a wide margin. About 25% of all active pilots, and about 40% of domestic pilots. Not saying you don’t have a point, but should we not expect the largest category to have to most fatigues? Once you control for fleet size, it’s not nearly the outlier.

Kind of like those guys that currently occupy those seats?

Fair enough, the number I heard was 2:1 to the rest of DAL combined.

you know, from top men.

Bus schedules are meh mostly. Bus is awesome. Still massively better than RJs, and I expect it will improve. I have seen the surge cycle before. Green slips and IAs are the game now.

Fun fact: close to 80% of the LAX 320 rotations in June have a redeye.

I was 20% on the 320A in base the trips were crap**. 3-4 legs per day early show late return. To me that defines suck.
Enjoy if you think that’s going to work for happy family life.

Default Update

So I’m in a situation now where I can’t get released from active duty until early 2024. Delta originally gave me a class date for this past March, but I had to push it for mil reasons. Sucks because I can’t get in and have to miss out on that seniority. United is offering me an interview for whenever I’m free. I should be able to do the interview in the fall, but still can’t start until 2024. I still am leaning Delta, but it is hard knowing I’ll be behind some of the seniority movement after potentially having to wait a year for mil reasons.

At 28 does it really matter or am I overanalyzing the seniority progression?
