Aa to dal
Currently have about 1.5 yrs at AA, LGA based bidding 20% on international side currently on 737 FO, upgrade time is currently 2.5 years on 737 while widebody FO in NYC on 777 is currently more senior around 4-5 years, I have 2500 pilots below me, I am about 15% up the way of seniority list already.
Got DELTA CJO a couple days ago and thinking of making the jump. Age wise currently low-30's so I have a 30+ year career ahead of me hopefully and NY is home and where I want to be based. Looking for prospectives pros/cons of either staying at AA or leaving for Delta.
Appreciate it and if anyone made the jump from AA to Delta can PM me anytime thanks

I’m at AA not Delta but I’d say that if you want NYC then Delta hands down. Just look at how much bigger Delta is in NY than us. AA is relying on some goofy NEA code share to try and make NY work. Delta actually flies their own schedule and has a robust trans Atlantic operation there too. Just my two cents. If I had 30+ years and wanted to be at a NY airline, AA and the NEA wouldn’t be my choice.

Contrary to what the doom and gloom types portray it our work rules, especially for reserves, aren't pretty good and getting better. Add in wanting NYC area and it seems like an easy choice from this side.... but I don't know what it's really like at American.

I don't know what it's like at American but I can say with confidence, living in NY and working for Delta would be like being a 7 year old and getting keys to the candy store. Good luck with the decision.

Perfect description. Best relative seniority in the system and will go up quickly, 7 categories to choose from, myriad ways to maximize pay and/or QOL. I’m a little jealous.

I think you kinda missed the boat at delta. Even in the next 10 years, let alone the last ten of your career, you’ll have vastly better seniority at AA due to the much greater retirement wave there. Add in the fact that delta has already hired over half their list since 2014 and it’s a no brainer to stay at AA.
