Because the scribbled nonsense of fingers on greasy screens is so much more convincing than any other method. (Sarcasm)

Also, after having my iPad sleep during cruise, I’m about 50/50 (four legs total) on having to sign back in through Deltanet to access it. Anyone else see this? Meanwhile, the FO on my current rotation can’t get it set up to even load our flights, and that’s after time talking to IT.

Exactly…seems like we are going to waste more time with the preflight. It’s going to be an absolute s$&t show trying to get the crew to airdrop it to each other. We usually don’t sign the current release at the same time now, just whenever we get around to it.

Now we all have to drop everything and play patty cake to make this happen.

just hand one iPad to the other pilot to sign. Way faster and easier than airdropping

Yeah, I think that’s going to be the standard…just do it after the brief. Still kind of dumb that it needs to come from one device.

…with an hour and a half minimum brief time, an hour of cockpit time, three or four total monkeys doing the work of one, one flight leader/purser every two to four days. Something tells me the opinion of the grunts doing three or four legs in the trenches every day carry more weight. But what do I know.

having used a product with similar intent at another carrier, I can say I can’t believe how clunky this appears to be. I’ll give it a chance, but so far it seems like a very poor product.

kinda like the surface. when all you have know is paper jepps the surface was fine, but when compared to the competition product (iPad) it sucks.

Can it get us all the required info the paper release provides? Yes. Does it do it more efficiently? No. Is it better than the digital flight plans we’ve been using for the last couple years? Absolutely not. It’s an unintuitive app that wastes our time. You can’t even use the down button to scroll through all the info. It pauses at every section and requires 2 more clicks before you can start using down button again.

I have yet to talk to anyone on the line that thinks it met our expectations yet alone exceeded them. Some guys flat out refuse to use it because they think it’s bad enough that it will never actually get implemented.

I think this might be like the surface deal. We use this app and get special treatment by Airbus.

Well guess what.

It's coming whether you like it or not.

Better learn to use it/love it or your life will continue to be miserable.
