Mission plus

I know the opposite was true when the beacon was the trigger. Guys were getting called in for early outs to pad block before management started doing it for us.

More than getting called in. 6 pilots in NY were fired in one week. They quickly got their jobs back but not fun.

Isn’t Mission plus a stand alone app? I haven’t done my CBT’s yet so if email is an integral part of M+ than I’ll stand corrected, but I thought it was stand alone, hence my confusion about the poster I originally replied to inferring we got stuck with M+ because the union said “no” to mandatory email checking.

Don't like it. They have a good idea with an almost graphical release setup with that blue block but don't convey much useful information. NOTAM tiles are totally pointless, there is almost no value in knowing you looked at all NOTAMS at some point in the past. The wx tiles don't display wx until you click into them. The only tile that's worth anything is the one listing crew members, but the layout of the crew list seems totally arbitrary and the colors don't mean anything.
Even as one size fits all solution for multiple airlines it isn't good. I found clicking flight acceptance came closest to conveying useful information conveniently.
They would have been better served just improving the hyperlinks in the current/previous system until they could make a self contained application for it.
Blue block should; Show call sign and ship number. MINTO/BLOCK fuel under departure dot. STA over ETA under destination dot. Reporting points ideally so you can click and input times. Destination alternate should stay right of destination, take off alternate before departure point, and clicking on them should bring up NOTAMS and wx. Wx tile should actually display updated wx on the tile. MEL should get it's own tile. Remaining space should be customizable tiles. Basically everything you want should be immediately visible one one screen...in the unlikely event anyone cares to actually make it good.

Fired? Were they turning on the beacon as soon as they arrived at the jet?

I decided to use the thing and I can get through the flight plan faster than the paper. After 3 weeks, one issue remains. The howgosit doesn’t carry your times and fuel to the end of the flight for projection purposes. Minor hit, but would be nice. The visibility issue is largely fixed by the workaround stated earlier. However, I would like to the day/night mode fixed to work like every other app.
For speed: use the down arrow on the lower right of the screen when viewing the flight plan. It beats going back and forth with the tabs.
For signing the release: FO sign release, share to captain. Easy.

Definitely with Notams. FD Pro has the best Notam filtering available. Combined with looping Radar, a Deadheading pilot in back allowed to use the free Wi-Fi has access to better information than the pilot operating the flight. Why they haven't allowed wifi access to Flight Deck Pro is Flight Ops stubbornness at its finest.

with that said it is my understanding mission plus has a lot more than just the flight plan, so I’m not sure the whole no email thing causing mission plus holds much water.
