At the risk of being harpooned from either side, in you estimate, with your knowledge of the RLA and the NMB and the mediator, is that a possibility and what is your prognosis of where you personally think it's headed if it doesn't pass?

Not trying to pin you down(well yea, in a way I am) but that's why reps' rep us. It does no good to be the smartest guy in the room(no offense meant, more a statement of fact) if you don't provide input when asked(thus not selling)

I'll give you a bit to put on your politician suit/dress

Sorry I see you edited your post...BTW u got super powers? why doesn't it show edited like when I edit mine?

JMHO, provided there are no unsuspected bombs in the TA final language, we should take the QOL and run. The downside far exceeds any additional upside

I guess we (I) would have to parse the definition of threat. If a action/reaction is known to be the result of a specific decision...I am not sure that is synonymous with threat.(to me it's not) it's more like critical decision making input. Threat intones a more nefarious, underhanded, abuse of power.(my perception)

This is more like understanding the rules of the game. Essentially that's what we are doing. Playing a game. But I need clarification on the rules and probabilities to handicap my play call

Actually what the mediator said was that there would be no further negotiating sessions scheduled and that our next meeting would be a status conference in Washington D.C. in late January at the earliest.
That kinda sounds like being parked.

It’s a nice way of saying it.

Gotta play the cards we are dealt, not up the bet hoping for a draw to an inside straight.
You’re right it is a different time than TA1. Way higher inflation and a real Pilot shortage this time…

so overall a more favorable time to get bigger retro and pay for this AIP.

I’m sure ALPA reps are liars also (some of them).

Point is, vote no if you don’t like the TA, vote yes if you do. Don’t be swayed by these types of arguments that come from an anonymous source who is “on the horseshoe”. These types things are so f*cking stupid. Spreading FUD in the interest of furthering a certain agenda.

It’s not. The conference is to see where either side is and how far apart they are.

It’s because I edited right after I posted it I think. And when I said threat all I meant was we shouldn’t vote something in just for the fear of being parked. If we insisted on every single thing we asked for? Yeah I believe we would be parked. But I also don’t think we would have done that.

I think this and TA 1 are apples and oranges since it was riddled with concessions and this isn’t. If this fails in memrat I think it would just require minor tweaks and not a complete rewrite.

And trust me, I’m by no means the smartest man in the room.

Thank you for you humbleness and (if I dare say) you are certainly more knowledgeable about the "rules" than I am ...My vote is equal to yours (1 apiece) so personally when I know somebody has more insight about a subject, I try to ferret it out. Whether or not I listen is up to me

Now, I am going to ponder the words "minor tweaks". I agree, if turned down, no rewrite required and the process could go very, very quickly(if management would agree to the "minor tweaks"). Personally, I doubt those minor tweaks would happen quickly. I could see them happening, but I suspect some other carrier would have to take our minimum line in the sand and raise the bar. That will take time and the question then becomes reward vs TVM and QOL improvements in abeyance.

Since all that is conjecture, and nobody has a crystal ball, I will either come down on the side of FUD or FOMO

Thank you for fielding questions. I feel iAPC is a great avenue to disseminate info as opposed to 15K pilots contacting their rep's personally. It saws down the big trees, gives time for peeps to ponder, assess and weigh while waiting for NN's for the nuances
