Yes....management was downright STUPID to quibble over a few shekel's of pay for something that most people(even non invested) would consider reasonable. They might blow up a deal over that if they were shooting for 50% + 1.
So, my take .....
1. Management is stupid....or,
2. Management and ALPA thinks this will resoundingly pass and are not worried about the outer fringe % that are fence sitters that topple to the "NO" side due to the real(perceived) slap in the face

Now their line of thinking is, let's send this turd back and in 1.5 years we will get 4.5 years of "full retro" back to the amenable date. Spoiler alert, it's not going to happen .

Exactly this. Most reasonable people knew there was no was NO WAY we were getting full retro ala C2016 style for 3 years. If they did they were fooling themselves.

Ok. What retro did you expect? And if we send it back, will you get what your expectation is for 4.5 years......or more?

It doesn’t matter what I expect. This will likely pass. This contract has dragged on a long time and the 4.5 year argument has merit. Just pointing out that the way it’s structured with retro should temper expectations for future on time contract. And yes I know COVID had an effect on the delay but doesn't explain the lack of 2023 retro.

You honestly have no idea. I actually find the retro underwhelming, but it's made up for in the total value of the contract (QOL and Soft Money) I also believe sending back will not result in any appreciable gain. If anything, it will result in a net loss to the pilot group.
Thanks for playing.
