For those that have flown both the 717 and 737 which would you chose if you had to make a choice ? How is the radar on the 717?

I was senior (top 30%) on 737 and might go back to the left seat of it when I have similar seniority on it.
All the gripes about the cockpit are understated. Ergonomically it sucks. That, too, is ann understatement. Overhead panel didn’t bother me except when I banged my head. Which was everyday.
717 cockpit is actually more comfortable to me by a long shot. You’re not confined to the seat long enough to get stoved up. Supposedly it is worse for 2014 and earlier hires.
Radar on 717 is decent at depicting weather once you’re in the middle of it! There’s no IAN approach button, but who needs that when you can adjust a mirror to check the compass heading?
I prefer to stay within two time zones of home. 717 for the win.
A senior pilot can stay on the same body clock on the 737.

My pro con list is almost even between the 717 and 737. Each plane has some things that are better than the other but the one thing that surprised me the most is how much worse the seat is in the 717. First time I’ve ever needed a lumbar pad then again maybe that’s just age finally catching up to me. Good news is the legs are so short it doesn’t really matter as much.

717 Radar is decent. 737 Radar is world class even tho it's overzealous in Auto(Scary Mode)
