Might be but I haven’t played GTA in decades. Liberty City is actually a place in Miami.

For those that have flown both the 717 and 737 which would you chose if you had to make a choice ? How is the radar on the 717?

I’d say it depends on what you want.
I was senior (top 30%) on 737 and might go back to the left seat of it when I have similar seniority on it.
All the gripes about the cockpit are understated. Ergonomically it sucks. That, too, is ann understatement. Overhead panel didn’t bother me except when I banged my head. Which was everyday.
717 cockpit is actually more comfortable to me by a long shot. You’re not confined to the seat long enough to get stoved up. Supposedly it is worse for 2014 and earlier hires.
Radar on 717 is decent at depicting weather once you’re in the middle of it! There’s no IAN approach button, but who needs that when you can adjust a mirror to check the compass heading?
I prefer to stay within two time zones of home. 717 for the win.
A senior pilot can stay on the same body clock on the 737.

My pro con list is almost even between the 717 and 737. Each plane has some things that are better than the other but the one thing that surprised me the most is how much worse the seat is in the 717. First time I’ve ever needed a lumbar pad then again maybe that’s just age finally catching up to me. Good news is the legs are so short it doesn’t really matter as much.

Excuse the thread drift, but Liberty City is New York(ish). Vice City is Miami(ish).

737 all day everyday and twice on Sunday if you're a Captain(HUD). 717 has nice screens buts it's still very much a DC9 with plenty of reminders why. Prime example is Deicing Events. 717 seats are terrible plus they don't have headrests. 717 pedestal is much larger than the 73 so less knee room. Non precision approaches are a pain in the 717. Uncoupled and requires FPA mode so your situational awareness needs to be on point. Preflight on first flight of the day requires outside observer to clear wings for hydraulic check. Panel outside has to be opened to check potable water and can be painful to open/close in winter. I could go on but you get the point. To top that off many legs per day and not the most desirable overnights. But on the brightside, it's a hell of alot better than CRJ200 flying at the regionals.

717 Radar is decent. 737 Radar is world class even tho it's overzealous in Auto(Scary Mode)
