Eh, I mean I remember them telling us at the interview that "Delta only hires captains". It's a cool catch phrase that makes ya feel good about yourself I guess (not directed at you Trip). Yea anyone hired can go and pass a 34/44X day-1 sure. But the OE guide and company pages aren't a replacement for experience (Trip not saying you think they are) and these guys aren't always going to have two or three other experienced FO's to draw upon on these trips all over the globe, especially out of NYC. It's all good I figured i'd catch a little incoming over this.....

If you are doing something you’ve never done before (waters/Europe) take it slow, study a bit the night prior while watching family guy in a Marriott

You guys will be fine, don’t not bid it unless you lack confidence. Trust the OE dudes. They are all awesome except ATL

I would've loved to have PSC, but your argument simply doesn't hold water. If it were that simple, I suggest you get a job on the negotiating committee to pad that resume.
BREAK
On topic, I think we've hit the bottom of the wave on WBB. Expect it to get much more senior in the next few AEs. A combo of pay banding and many seat locks expiring this spring will be the catalysts.

I stepped away from grinding it out in the middle for a reason. I'm happiest as well paid skilled hourly labor flying planes or "king" of my micro sized real estate empire. Getting crushed in the middle is no fun.

I don’t know. Trying to figure that out. I don’t work weekends or holidays and prefer 4 day trips. Not sure if I can hold it with those stipulations. Looking at February bid pack. Holy cow are those trips gentlemanly. There are 4 days with 10 hours of flying and 11 hours credit. Bad news is all trips pay ADG. Good news is you barely fly.

Flown it in the past, small towns, but some of those are the best layovers. No red eye, 2 time zones to work with.
Edit: just saw your stipulations. Did you look at the pilots around you seniority wise on the bid awards and reasons report to see how they are bidding and what they can hold?

Pretty sure you can hold it, people that are 2019 hires are. I think a couple 2020 soon as well. You’ve been here way longer than that, so you’ve said.

The cost of PSC from the Company perspective includes FAs. So whatever number you are thinking probably triple it. FAs already get crew meals so the extra cost for them was already paid for. I don’t agree with that line of thinking but that is how the Company saw it.

What do you think happens out there that requires some magical number of flight hours to be a safe captain? This is not a dig per say, but it’s very simple.

I love it on the 717 and am ok with our more RJish days because it gives me other benefits. DYDD, if you switch you’ll be more than welcome here.
