The ER to 765 has been broken multiple times over the past year, NYC and ATL.

Also, the 7ERB to 765B is only differences training (like 4 days) and TOE, not even a short course to go between fleets in the same seat.

Anything that goes to 2007 will be incredibly close to 2008, 2010 and early 2014.

Piling on… there were 7ERB new hires awarded NYC 765B this last AE. By “new hires” I’m referring to people in their initial 2 year seat lock. So yes, definitely a possibility right now.

Keep in mind that 765 training is the 7ER course and then a transition course, so for the company it's not really much cost to let 7ER pilots bid to 765 since they basically are sitting with most of the 765 initial course complete. It means getting pilots online much quicker too.

I know DL groups the B767-400 different from the B767-300ER & B757s for bidding - is the 765 considered a different type rating on your FAA license, kind of like how the B747-400 is B-747-4?

No. The 767-400 AQP will get you a B-767/B-757 type.

The only reason Delta keeps it as a separate category is that you have to track recency in the 400 separate from all the other 757/767.

I don’t know if this is because we keep our 75/763s with round dials, but I do not believe UA has to do this and they have a common pilot group for all 757/767 flying
