Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

I think that was before my time. Did the more-frequent AEs then tend to flush out the sport-bid-with-percentages from that counter?

Bidding LAX and 'squealing' about "No European flying!" is as foolish as bidding NYC and complaining you never/rarely get to see Japan. What do you expect? I simply cannot understand bidding a coastal base and honestly getting your knickers in a twist when you don't get to coast-out of the opposite coast. In the LAX May 2 RCC update, 3 of the 4 examples of their 'Requests" were BOS-Europe flying. By LAX crews. Requesting it is one thing, but it's so much more than that. Their comms go to great lengths to count lists of rotation city-pairs, and they portray themselves as getting screwed over - and it's nonsense.

Those same pilots that flew to JFK, laid over for 24 hours then flew to Portugal for 48 hours? When it was a brand new destination no less....

This was circa 2016ish, when we seemed to have a bid every 6ish weeks. I watched as the number senior to me bidding 330B stayed at 180, but the seniority of those awarded, kept marching down toward me. I was certain I would get awarded it on the bid I ended up getting the the AE.

Don't forget the one December where LAX crews had trips that would fly JFK EDI JFK then back home with 24 hours in JFK and 95 hours in EDI.
