I still remember when LAX pilots were the ones complaining about the MCO Virtual base and how that flying was going to be pulled from them.

Alpa pulled down the 30 day card, nobody ever tried the Virtual Base and the company doesn’t know if McO would’ve been a good idea down the road. They should’ve let it run one month, then pull the card.

Would have loved to see how the flying would have worked or not out of MCO. MEC got their knickers in a twist and lashed out by pulling the VB down. Seem to remember they did the SILs that way at the same time. Used to pay 55 hours but the Company tried the "see how many will take it" approach using less than 55 hours. I know of several pilots who were taking it because it benefitted their personal situations but the MEC said NO. Company wasn't hurt, only the membership. It's why we can't have nice things.

Just a reminder, you don't hear much complaining on here from NYC73NAs. There's a reason for that

I support the decision. Sure it would have been nice for the company and the pilots to see how it worked, but it would have been nice if the company hadn’t completely ignored the details of the agreement it was part of as well as violating our contract numerous times. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. If they’re going to ignore the contract they signed, why should we work with them while they do it?

What part did they ignore? Its been a few years and I seem to remember we cancelled in a fit of pique over the SIL issue.

LAX council updates are embarrassing and childish all around. Really unprofessional and ineffective.

The company didn't implement it in the ascribed time frame. Either party was able to pull it down. The union did. You can characterize it as a "fit" but I'm glad we slammed that pandora's box closed. It should have never been considered and it was a + on jobs that we did.

I agree but they get the facts correct. The spin and writing makes them ineffective.

It is because most of them are still on probation.

No real surprise considering they both comment on chitchat frequently.
