There will be plenty of NH pilots in their 40’s who will take the pay bump for the move down from 80% to 90%.

I don’t believe they can but I’m just saying at some point they may have no choice! But then again, like others have said on here, if you can’t sleep on planes then wide bodies aren’t for you and if that’s the case then you might as well upgrade and that’ll solve the problem! Didn’t American make their pilots upgrade after so many years?

How junior y’all think the upgrade will go?
I say 6 months NYC73A.

New hires in my opinion. I just don’t see the majority of folks upgrading when they could wait it out for a widebody. I know I’m stuck on that but I believe NB captains will go junior for a while. Great time to be at Delta! Take advantage of it while you can

I hope you are right! This is just my guess based on what I hear flying the line. I just don’t see a big enough difference in pay between 320A and 330B to justify the extra work you’ll be doing on the 320. After the raise, 330Bs will be making $286 an hour. I bet for most people that’s plenty and it’s an easier lifestyle. Just my guess tho!

For sure!! I totally understand. I must have just been flying with the opposite viewpoint pilots. To each their own for sure. That’s why this job is so nice. A lot of options!

I think they also had a perpetual B scale for all FOs, but not CAs. so even if you were a senior year FO, there was a significant financial incentive to upgrade back then.

they used to, you had X amount of time after anyone junior to you in your base was awarded CA to bid CA or they could force you. that policy went away after 9/11, if not earlier.
