Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs
#6002
I know the west coast doesn’t get as much attention, but what’s going on with LAX350? The B category is growing by 12% just this AE. Since the September AE it’s up a whopping 25%! It’s usually a pretty stagnant category as far as growth.
We’re already doing 2x daily SYD and AKL right now. Could this just be a delayed reaction to staff for that increase, or is there something else on the horizon for LAX?

AKL is 50% staffed by ATL. Moving it to 100% LAX crews improves the reserve utilization due to non FRMS in AKL. HND, CDG or AMS would also increase LAX crew requirements and non FRMS flying which increases reserve usage. FRMS (SYD) makes reserve utilization poor from a company perspective, but great for pilots. AKL and any other non-FRMS flying increases reserve utilization (company efficiency). At some point LAX 350 will pick up the inside out 330 flying.

Wow, I'd be all over that. Explore that beautiful city and catch some Real matches at the Bernabau

Some of those close cities are Great! MAD, BRU, EDI are all awesome IMO. However 4 FCOs pay only a few hours less than 5 EDIs or MADs. The near Europe out of JFK usually requires 5 trips to get in the LCW while places like FCO, ATH, and VCE only require 4.

Toured it and got a pic with my son in the players' seats with him in a Ronaldo Real jersey. Then, Barca with Messi. Both cities are great and have a lot to offer. Spain is the under appreciated country in Europe.

It does but in the end after you’ve explored everything you want to see it’s still a good Europe destination with a long layover, great dinner and great beer/wine. But yes, sometimes that’s all it becomes about. You find different things to do. At the end of the day a lot of layovers in this industry turn into that.
