Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

Thats why I asked earlier, but didn't get a response....what's on the horizon for new destinations on the A330 in NYC? Usually they spread the vacancies around the different bases and most backfills occur in NYC as current NYC pilots bid those vacancies at different bases, but this time, the vast majority of vacancies on the A330 for the last two bids are NYC vacancies. This is different than normal ops. I'm curious I what's going on. After the VEOP, they started hiring like crazy because before they could upgrade FO's, they needed FO's to take their place. Then they filled the NB A ranks, with the senior (and junior) FO's so they had somewhere to draw WB A's from. The two biggest oddities is the lack of WB B openings and that all these WB A openings are NYC.

Reading between the lines. BS said that the ATL 765 was partly for redeployment of the airframes there. That can only mean they are coming from NYC. I would speculate that the 330 will be taking over some traditionally 765 routes. LHR, ZHR, MAD, BCN, NCE, GRU are some of the cities that might become more prevalent on the 330 bid pack.

BCN is already in the NYC 330 bid pack. I'd love to see some Nice and ZRH too. MAD would be nice occasionally. When I first started flying shotgun on the ER I was getting MAD all the time. It was one of the more junior trips. After the first few times I was not looking forward to it, but every time I went there, we always did something different and I always had a good time.

Maybe posting ATL/MSP/DTW/SEA 330A slots creates more training churn and movement due to the desirability of those slots and, like you said, creates NYC backfills anyway.
Why not just put the training slots where it'll create the least churn.

I know the west coast doesn’t get as much attention, but what’s going on with LAX350? The B category is growing by 12% just this AE. Since the September AE it’s up a whopping 25%! It’s usually a pretty stagnant category as far as growth.
We’re already doing 2x daily SYD and AKL right now. Could this just be a delayed reaction to staff for that increase, or is there something else on the horizon for LAX?
