The PWA is fairly clear on co-terminal bases. Technically, every pilot based in NYC, regardless of equipment, has to cover all 3 NYC airports.

With JB having far fewer fleets it’s functionally far easier to split the bases. If we want EWR gone I suspect we could work that out. If we want it kind of gone but keep the parts we like not a chance.

Splitting EWR off would most likely require networt to pick (and stick with) a single fleet to do the majority EWR flying. And we all know how much those guys love stability… 🙄

Yep, aware of the challenges. I know for me it’s a major reason I won’t take an NYC upgrade. Plenty of others will.

Keep it as is, please. I was at JB, didn’t want a stand-alone base. And yes, I am a PA guy.

I have what might be a dumb question. Can a newhire 7ERB move to NY 765 before the completion of the two year seatlock? I realize it says 13 days or more of training incurs the lock but would a move like that require 13 or more days?

The company can break any seat lock at their discretion, usually to help them staff a much shorter category. I think I’ve seen some posts over the last year where some people were given awards to the 765 off their 7ER seat lock. This is why it’s always important to bid for what you want, not just what is posted or what you think you might hold.
