Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

Agreed (if ICAO doesn't follow suit). It's not the middle of the pack NB A's, much less the junior ones that need to 'worry'. It's the top 10-15% NB A's that would get dogpiled, and lose thier top couple of page status.

An avalanche? How many 65 year olds who've been flying International ops for a decade+ are going to want to go to 737 or A320 training and go back to 2-4 leg domestic 12 hour days with 10-14 hour overnights for another 2 years? There will be some, and it will happen pretty quickly, but at the max, it'll be 400-500 a year, spread out over 7 bases and 2-3 fleets. I don't think it'll be that bad, if it does happen.
For me, I'm not going to 67. I'm retiring before 65, which is right around the corner for me. I can't see flying 121 past 65. Yuck. Much rather be fishing or something else. Oh yeah, the Super Decathalon is a lot of fun too.

Next, abrogating seniority? So you in the "they are stealing muh Greenslip" camp huh? I'll be flying the same trips except as WS instead of OOBWS soon so get your "why are people WSing when Greens are going out!" complaining ready Nick "Keyboard Warrior" Bradshaw.

Big E, they won't have a choice in that regard. It will be fly NB or go do something else. ICAO will not catch up with age 67 by the time it passes here. So that will leave a lot of curmudgeons like Nick in limbo. They will likely have 3 options. 1 - be forced down to NB flying; 2 - Go NBCSIC; 3 - perhaps a deal is made between ALPA and the other carriers to "buy out" these guys like we did with the VEOP.
As for ICAO, they move glacially slow. The FAA going to 67 will trigger studies and a multi year review. It will be way cheaper for the airlines to negotiate a buyout.
But short of that, yeah, I guess we'll be dogpiling the mid to upper seniority NBAs. It would be fine to go back to 320A with super seniority and working easy trips.

Most likely it will be a negotiated buyout resembling the VEOP. And of course that's not going to come without concessions that the juniors will feel. If only they didn't throw us under the bus in C19. Looks like we're getting a second chance at a fourth pillar.
