Are you trying to start a dumpster fire about the distinction between money and currency?

This will not last forever and when the record player screeches to a halt, or worse, starts playing backwards (Satan is that you?) lots of people will be caught off guard. Much less unpleasant during a black swan if you have been planning for the eventuality.

Make hay while you can. Enjoy the ride. Save some $.

And no, I’m no fun at parties 😬

People will need food, shelter and clothing. A wise person would have investments reflecting that.

that's exactly what all the super rich have done. They literally have self sufficient islands that can support them for decades as the apocalypse unfold around the word.

sooo...l guess jokes on us home owners. I should have invested in a trailer home with pontoons strapped to its belly. So like those awesome duck boats I can both roll and float my way to some rich bastards island and crash their party!!

That's great if you are planning for the great apocalypse and can make it to the island. Your transportation to said island may decide their family is going before you do.

For the bottom end of the 1% ers like us that are just looking to ride out the AI take over of our trade, a portfolio of investments that covers food, shelter and clothing will provide a transition. You don't have to wear tinfoil to understand the value of boring stuff like an emergency fund, some passive income and a fall back skill.

I heard the last AE of 2023 is coming out in a few weeks.

Looks like "Handyman" has a very promising future.

Plumber, Electrician, Carpentry, Excavation. Stopped up toilets are recession proof.

There's a bit of truth in that episode. My brother in law is an electrician who employs lots of other electricians. On occasion his corporate clients will fly him on their company jet to job sites. If you have a good reputation as electrician, plumber or handyman there is always plenty of work. You can give partial credit to the "4 hour work week" culture that advocates outsourcing everything.
