Am I reading this correctly? #96, currently ATL350A, bids DTW320A and gets a bypass award. So…on 2 Mar 24 (estimated conversion) he will fly the 350 for 320 pay. I’ve never seen a backwards bypass.

You are reading it correctly but the contract says they'll be pay protected at the higher pay rate. So, while unusual, he/she/they just have to fly 350A....for 350A pay.

I believe the point is, we used to female dog when there were no mock bids. Now we female dog that there are mock bids.

Concur. Had several buds upset that the AE itself deviated from the mock bid by too much in their opinion and that they took it in the shorts. They just cannot understand that it was a MOCK bid, there was no promise that it would mirror the final. So the moral to all the pilots with the female dog syndrome is: just don't pay attention to mock bid, don't even look at it. But we had enough people that wanted the mock, so live with it because that's what we currently have.

Either he forgot he had a bid in, was making an attempt to try to force bypasses for his buds senior to him, or he was just messing with the system for the luls.

I wonder if he'll use his 11.G.7 before checking out in Feb.

Can he use it though? He's already a 350A right? Or am I missing something.

Nothing says you can’t back out from an award to a lower paying position.

I agree, you can't take the mock too seriously, but as a previous poster pointed out they changed how many ATL 320As they awarded from 27 to 13 between the mock and the real AE. I'm sure that's driven by how people bid in other seats, etc. but that's a pretty significant swing! Buyer (of mock AEs?) beware!

So he can force them to give him the 320A award even though they bypassed him?

I guess, that's another "They didn't think we'd do that."

He was bypassed, so he wouldn't have to use it.
