Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

Hey Flex. Yes. The 330/350 are far more efficient than the ER and 765. Hands down. So I would expect us to park those fleets ASAP. The 75 is a wild card though. It has some stuff capability wise that Delta likes. We love those little niche markets. Some only the 75 can do and turn a good profit. So to answer your question, 76ER gets parked in a downturn. 765s get parked next. Then probably a preponderance of the 75 fleet. Efficiency wise our big Airbuses trounce the Boeings we have on hand.

Asking about fleet plans during a black swan event - not a logical conversation to have buddy. Not even worth your stress or energy. We don’t need the rare positive people of this forum turning into sour grapes. Enjoy this new side of the airline you finally got. Prepare for the rainy days financially. Drink some beer with your crews. Cheers buddy

If Mr Spock should suddenly appear on earth today and read this thread I am sure his one word description would be “fascinating.”
We spend an inordinate amount of time unnecessarily arguing semantics instead of more noble pursuits, but it is amusing. What is a wall? What is a wide body?
I will defer the “Wall” question to someone with an engineering degree but as to a widebody it’s pretty simple, the 767 is a widebody the 757 is a narrow body. Do they pay WB rates or NB rates? Neither, good or bad they pay they pay a combined rate.
Perhaps Sailing or another old timer can weigh in, but I thought the 757 did pay a different rate at some time back in antiquity and that the 757 was then brought up the 767 rate.
In any case we seem to have matched the industry standard, which IMHO is a good thing. Since we have sub 3 year Pilots holding 7ER left seat and have a “ wall” around the pure WB fleets it seems, how should I put this……………quite logical.

So are we looking at Friday for a 'mid-AE-mock-bid'?
I didn't check...how did the Oct mock compare to the closing?

Overall I think the consensus is that the mock bids have failrly closely matched the final results, like you said just a little off. It turns out the mock bid is a valuable tool and not the doomsday machine that many of the chicken little posters on here had predicted.

Flex - you are way overthinking and reading this forum too much asking about fleet plans if the doomers of this forum 0.001% prediction came true. The same guy in another thread said you’d be furloughed FYI (even being in 60% tile that you are in systemwide LOL). So read this with caution. With the CC crowd getting bored and coming over to this forum, dump it. Focus on your 330 sims and enjoy the widebody life.

I maintain that there is a major downturn heading our way. How much it affects us is anyone's guess. My guess is we take a pretty good hit in the airline industry. We always do at these downturns. Yes, I believe the bottom third will be either UNA'd or furloughed or some variation on the theme. Remember we got "what's a SIL" in charge.

So with conversions as early as December and as late as April, it's a roll of the dice whether this AE allows you to bid vacation in your current category as opposed to the next one, correct?
