Better trips. More flexibility in scheduling and base choice on the 330. I sure do see advantage. Again, if I was <3000 I'd be bidding the 330. No point in staying on the 765. That's just me and I've flown the 75/76 and 765 from left seat before I made the jump to speaking French. I've flown both boeing and airbus here, the plane and trips are far better in airbus land.
The only thing holding you back is that mentality you just stated. ROI. Yeah if I had <5 years. I'd stay 765. Otherwise. No way.

Depends on how much time they have left. If only a few years, why make the jump? If you’re 30 years into your career I’m sure you’re much more concerned about maximizing your retirement than getting a better layover. 7ER to 765 is kind of a no brainer, especially with the pay band. 765 to 330/350 would be scratching my head unless they have a long way to go until retirement. Yea I know the plan (for now) is to be an all airbus widebody fleet but if you only have a few years left and you’ve been flying Boeing for the last few decades, I think you’ll be safe retiring on the 765. 7ER to 330/350 makes a hell of a lot more sense than 765 to 330/350

Speaking of Boeing wide bodies, if the next recession hits hard, are they more likely to retire the 7ER/765s then? For someone who hasn’t been around the airline industry long, it’s hard to understand what happens. The only weird thing I’ve seen was COVID which was more extreme than a recession. Is a recession something like 20% of the bottom WBAs and WBBs get bummed down? Do NBAs get bummed down?
COVID was hit hard with international because the boarders closed. But a recession would be a different scenario, right? Would we see a lot of mandatory displacements like during COVID? I know that costs a lot of money. Or would they just stop hiring, and keep everyone put, then see how it plays out?
I understand I have a hundred questions and it may not be an issue now but I could see it being a good conversation heading into next Fall possibly.

You being false here. The schedules on the 330/350 are far better than the 765. If inside about 5 years, maybe, just maybe I would have stayed on the 765. I flew both and by far am happier with my schedules, flexibility on the airbus fleets. VA Ave ain't that bad.

You also get a smoother ride crossing the ocean at 350 vs 310, better rest facility and a meal tray. 5 years is a reasonable break even to switch.

I agree with several posters, I doubt we see very many 765A to 330A. 765A is an older demographic and can't see many switching to 330 or 350

You'd be well served to look harder there. I think you are going to see movement from 765A to 330A especially those with >5 years left. More so than we've seen in the past. Word is getting out on the street. 330 is a good place to be if your seniority is better than 35% in BES. Rest facility. Nothing more to be said.
