Doubtful. If they think a lot of pilots are using their training drop now, just wait until pilots don’t know which 1-2 months they will be going to training.

Obviously, a 2008/2014 hire has 100% chance of eventually bidding WB A. That's not a "wall falling", that's just how time works. It's expected.

I will also add, one lucky bidder does not a "fallen wall" make. Exactly like how "the wall fell" for WB B to NH's, for a very short time, only to be completely 'rebuilt' to original specs. I would argue that wasn't any kind of "wall" falling at all, it was simply a confluence of a very bizarre moment in time and seat locks. We will never see the WB B "fall" to a NH again, barring a WW3 type event.

IMO, in order for any "wall" to fall, there has to be a new, permanent shift in bidding. Like how the ER used to be the crown jewel of non-pure-international flying. 7ER A used to take nearly 20 years to hold. But it is now just another 'domestic' category with a few extra perks in the bid packet (sorry if that offends anyone, but you can't deny bidding behavior has permananly changed). The ER A "wall" has indeed fallen. Permanantly. When we take delivery of new WB's as a 767-300 replacement, and if we really do grow the international side of the airline, I can see some kind of further "wall" falling. But to take any kind of credit for it, you've got to define what you mean by "wall" ahead of time.

(And to be fair, I do note that you did specifically posit a 2014 hire getting WB A by Sept 22nd 2025" here. I respectfully disagree WB A will drop to a 5000+ seniority number in that timeframe, but I do commend you for being bold and very specific there. And I'd be delighted to be proven wrong ).

So they say THIS, and it is something that you can count on.

Fascinating

I’ll help carry Trip’s water a bit. We had already seen 765A fall to 4000 pre Covid. Our Widebody fleet will be significantly larger by the end of 2025 than it was in 2019. The Seniority list could be at least 15% larger by then as well. I believe 330/765/350 at 5500 is pretty realistic by the end of 2025. And 5500 at the end of 2025 would be close to 2015s.

they really can’t go back to mega bids like they used to. They have 2 fewer months of conversion time with c2019 so they are more limited in their training throughput for each AE. They could probably do bids every other month, but can’t go much more infrequently than that unless they are willing to eat NQAT time.

They still only get 1 “MOAB” per year.

NYC 330 A will be the junior WBA award from this AE and I will be several hundred numbers short. I still have AE bids loaded for every combination of 330/350 ATL, DTW, LAX, MSP, NYC. I'm not going Boeing or SEA.

I tend to agree. 4700-4800ish. With another order around the corner for WB, it will be on the doorsteps of 14/15 hires.

You’re right. Hiring will screech to a halt in 2 months. Huge displacement bid Q1 2024.

finally something typed that you can agree with on this forum
