Rumors rumors.
Do you have some numbers to back that assertion up about hiring people who wouldn't get in 5 years ago? Or is that just like your opinion man?
Why did they get rid of the JKT and the 2 day interview? The college degree? Probably for the same reason they're letting pilots wear double breasted coats, handing out BLM pins, pronoun badges, and FAs with beards and purple Mohawks.

I fly the line with NH every single week, it’s pretty obvious. I don’t need #s…just ask the LCA and people in the training department.

I don't find the low experience a problem, I find the attitude and entitlement a problem. A higher proportion than in the past (yet still a minority) just don’t GAS. No motivation at all. I flew with a NH on probation that only complained. Another said he hated every captain at delta and would upgrade asap. Pilots on probation saying this. I can take the inexperience, I can teach that out of them. I can’t help them with a bad attitude. That’s what is getting sacrificed imo.

Dang where are you based? I almost always fly new hires who need a grade sheet and I rarely see anything close to that. Most have been great and happy to be here...hope that continues. Then again, isn't everyone else's give a crap rolling downhill right now?

Given everything flight ops is pulling right now, a low GAS factor isn’t really that unreasonable.

ATL based. Again, it’s the minority of new hires I fly with don't GAS and don’t want to improve. I can relate to current management and ops tempo making me want to do my job and no more but these guys and gals don’t even care about doing that well (again the minority of NHs, overall they are great).

Especially when many of them left $hitty regionals for a better life here only to find out they’re still flying a &hitty regional life that only pays better.
