You missed the point. I was at 38 hours of credit. I picked up a white slip. Some tool texts me about why I am picking up a WS when they’re handing out greenies. That’s nobody’s business and takes a lot of balls to get my phone number and text me about why I WS a trip. Probably butt hurt because he thought it was HIS GS.
id say pilot ‘X’ got what he deserves in our seniority-based system. Albeit a little more tersely than he perhaps was imagining. Congrats on holding desirable trips that others are willing to swap. All good
back on the AE topic: anybody want to guess the over/under on pilots who convert earlier than they expected and now lose several vacation slots?

im an ‘07 hire and we were absolutely on Reserve in 2010….there was a SHORT period… months in ‘09 when I held a line and… Super recession, displaced & reserve for 3 more years. The SLI did nothing for those of us already on the bottom of the list and we only hired 300 in 2010., then no hiring until 2014.

Showing 217 pilots currently on the October list that were hired in 2010. So you’re telling me those recalled pilots lost their original seniority number/DOH? My apologies, but think you’re mistaken —there were originally about 300 hired in the 2010 wave.
Maybe your point was there were some late recalls that did slow down the hiring process a bit. But we still hired 300.
What is interesting was all those 300 hires in 2010 were brought on board during a short three month August to October period.

I dump just about everything I have and WS broken rotations. Had someone text me with the audacity to ask me why I am picking up a two day WS while they are handing out greenies (the trip I added he perceived to be HIS 2-day GS). My response: “I’m 20 hours below the trigger my guy. Why don’t you mind your own effing business and **** off.”
He didn’t reply. Maybe it was something I said?

I put a good 2 day (commutable Wed-Thurs trip with 3 legs) on the swap board once to try and trade for a commutable weekday 3-4 day. I got a phone call asking to trade for an uncommutable Friday-Monday 4 day.
I also have gotten calls asking to trade my Monday-Tues CQ for a Saturday/Sunday CQ.
I’m always amazed at the nerve of some pilots.

You're absolutely right. But for a pilot bidding NYC 320/73N A, it's absolutely easy, and some would say necessary, to the work the system. Of course there are plenty of reasons why those postions are going ultra junior, but if a junior pilot accepts those reasons, they walk into a cashflow machine

Along those lines though, I'm always intrigued by the pilots who have qualified personal drops for trips in for weeks, yet never put their trip on the swap board, so I just assume they are only 1/2 interested in getting rid of it, like "yes honey, I'll try and get rid of that trip to join you and your sister on a trip to watch the nutcracker for the 20th time" kinda response. I would never contact them over it though, never seen a trip so "good" that I'd contact anyone over it. There's always another fish to fry around the corner.
