No reason for me to be insulted. I just heard that since we had so many guys retiring (along with all the other airlines) that the FD was getting tired of having to do that so much. But yeah... it was just a rumor.

Delta no longer allows the water cannons. I think they changed the policy several years ago when a FD shot foam instead of water and damaged a engine.

I got water cannoned in RSW a couple years back. A Delta employee there had died unexpectedly and we were flying his remains home. Not a dry eye on the ramp or cockpit that day. They sent him home right. Tug driver could barely keep it together. All of RSW Ops on the ramp for the send off.

They still do them at some airports. ATL stopped because they would literally be doing a dozen per day. SLC and LAX stopped doing them because of the drought. 😏😂
