Work the system and it’s easy to make over 400K as a NB-A. I live in base as a NB-A and I’ll be north of 400k by the end of the year, and that’s just monthly pay. Doesn’t include company 401k contribution or the contract signing retro pay.

Working the system isn't easy for all or most people. That's the point everyone is trying to make.

Guess I’m thankful then that so few work the system. Another blessing for working at DAL. If I was at F9, NK, or WN I’d be stuck in a single fleet airline and wouldn’t have the ability to bid away from the WB stuff to a cozy spot in the NB-A list and be a big fish in a small pond.

I’ve found that people are very unimaginative when it comes to what the lives of others might look like. If they don’t already understand how different everyone’s family/work/life/finance dynamics, APC isn’t going to be the lightbulb.

Get this, there are pilots at F9, NK, WN, and others who are perfectly happy and making those jobs work for them too.

And believe it or not, at least according to some of my friends, Delta actually ranks toward the top of pilots who sell themselves to the company for extra pay. So, if anyone should be glad, it's guys like me who happily give away flying to you guys who are always chasing the money. And as sarcastic as that sounds, I really am glad there are guys WSing all the time to fill up so that I can stay home on reserve...or picking up those QPDs.

I dump just about everything I have and WS broken rotations. Had someone text me with the audacity to ask me why I am picking up a two day WS while they are handing out greenies (the trip I added he perceived to be HIS 2-day GS). My response: “I’m 20 hours below the trigger my guy. Why don’t you mind your own effing business and **** off.”

You want to make friends with greedy pilots who can't mind their own damn business?

You missed the point. I was at 38 hours of credit. I picked up a white slip. Some tool texts me about why I am picking up a WS when they’re handing out greenies. That’s nobody’s business and takes a lot of balls to get my phone number and text me about why I WS a trip. Probably butt hurt because he thought it was HIS GS.
