At a minimum, yes. Waiting for IOE is effectively continuous reserve so not rest thus the need for at least 30 hours notification.

That goes for any time you are on OE. If you have been waiting for 2 weeks they can just tell you one night to show up tomorrow.

I think you meant to say "they can't call you"...

you require at least 30 hours notice for OE, and if it has been more than 10 days since your last sim event you need 48. (Less than 48 but more than 30 can be offered as a proffer during this time)

Curious about narrobody A seniority. For those that wait to bid captain until they have seniority to hold weekends off and holidays, schedule control, reserve ect. What is typically that magic number? Is it 60 percent, 50? Has holiday unstacking gone senior to 50 percent before? Thanks

somewhere in the mid-50s can guarantee you every holiday, reserve schedules you want, and most if not all weekends if you prioritize that.

I agree with OOfff , mid 50s to 60% typically.

I’ve seen lots of people mid-interpret the 50% thing.

I’ve lost track of how many Captains that said “I’m at 50% and I got unstacked” in a holiday month.

PWA say you have to be in top 50% of *line holders*

So assuming a notional category of 100 Captains and let’s say 20% on RES, that means 80 Captains get REG awarded.

So pilot would need to be 40% in category to be < 50% of REG.

We are entering uncharted territory (think sea monsters on old nautical charts ) as far as holidays go since this is the first holiday season with holiday pay. I am curious to see how it affects the coverage awards and if it markedly changes bidding behavior.
