That's pretty close to best case scenario. You were 26 and hired near the beginning of a wave. I might be misreading your tone, but you sound like you're bragging when you really got lucky. Not taking away from your hard work to get hired at 26, but nobody gets to choose when the wave happens.

Maybe so, but I have a hunch that even then, you’ll still be telling us why you can’t hold that Captain position your lifestyle requires….

Not my problem, just interesting looking across all fleets.
sounds like more is coming down line. Bob mentioned close to a 20% decreased block hours leading no openings but further bids down the road will.

7,600 in 20 years
4,800 In 25 years
2,400 In 30 years
850 in 35 years

So new hires probably won’t see area code seniority unless they are hired in their 20s
…worth sharing with your friends who aren’t here yet just to keep it real. And maybe add a year or two if 67 happens and another year or two if age 70 happens. Two decades to move halfway up the list ain’t nothing, but it’s definitely not the quick lift the hiring wave leaders experienced.

Just want to make sure the PTC wives are keepin it real too!

As a 2020 hire I should be
7600 after 10 years
4800 after 18 years
2400 after 25 years.
And crack the top 1000 after 29 years.
you just sort of described my progression except that it took 32 years to crash the top 1000.

Oh, and I was around 7900 when I was hired, and still not much better after 10 years. Mergers and recessions do that.

To be fair, anyone hired today at AA or United will see similar progression.

But all three still have better progression than the ULCCs.
