Looks like we are bumping up hiring. 200 a month for the first half of next year, previously forecasted at 150 a month for all of 2024. Great time to be a Delta pilot.

To be more accurate, the figure I’ve heard repeatedly for senior Fly Ops leader’s mouths has been 1700 for the year. That may still be an accurate figure, with some weight at the early part of the year. Still a great time to be a Delta Pilot.

I feel like over the past two years we've strategically under-promised and over-delivered. Kinda of our style vs UA. Instead of giving grand plans, we keep it very short range focused. I couldn't get any answer out of any leader in 2021 or most of 2022 about annual hiring goals. Yet here we are heading for 17k pilots by EOY. Same thing goes for fleet. While others have jets with deliveries into the 2030s, ours are more close in. Seems like we are keeping our scale on pace with competition. The 5-6% block hours increase in S24 is more than network stated in townhalls(3-4%).

If they actually do that, we will be well over 17k pilots by May next year! Also it sounds like the next couple of AEs will generate significant movement throughout the list with more widebody positions posted. Good times.

Not to start a SLI discussion but 23 years is different for pNWA and PDAL to the tune of 1200 or so. I am about 3 months short of 24 years and still 400ish numbers shy of 330 A in NYC.
Disclaimer: I am not complaining about the SLI it is what it is, I am happy to be here and like my job.

Looks like with 15 SEA330 A’s I will most likely hold SEA330B this AE. Very tempting but I have to go with my logical choice of seniority for my life events (wedding and honeymoon in June). Just hope something doesn’t screw up our WB bids next year following the summer. I’ll be a 10.5 around that time to throw my bid in. Knowing my luck we will extend to 67 and WB A will dry up. Time will tell. Once your number gets called **** starts to get real! Thankfully I’m doing international on ER anyways

For all you guys saying that it's a good time to be a Delta pilot, check this out: The youngest pilot on our Oct list started two weeks after their 23rd birthday. And she will only be #1 on the list for less than 2 months, because the second youngest, senior to her, was hired just over a month after their 23rd. Their entire professional lives will be at Delta. Dang.
If we do in fact hire 1800 between now through June, we'll be just shy of 18k pilots.

assuming 65 remains in place and no early retirements, our 1/24 list will have over 16,440 with no further hiring. If we hire 200 per month through year end we will be over 17k by January

to be 23 and at mainline is nuts. It’s an amazing time to be hired. I guess the last 20 years has been amazing at producing a void.
let’s go, no hiccups. Keep moving along and cheers all.
really is a good time to not be >60yo
