Yes sir, I always recommend to my FO's that they at least try it for a year or so to see if they like it or not. I also give them the reasons I chose not to go back after being displaced. One thing I heard a lot from my Captains (prior WB B) as a new hire, is "I didn't realize how tired I was until I stopped flying international." I found that to be the case for me as well, others may not. Then again, as a NB guy, I rarely ever bid a line, and if I do, I certainly don't fly a full schedule of rotations from the bid packet. I think if I flew a full PBS awarded schedule every month, I'd probably be tired as well.
That said, I would never discount bidding down from NB A to WB B, in fact, it's on my radar down the road. I'll evaluate where I'd sit as a 320A vs 330B or 350B. Being top 10% in the right seat of a WB can be an insanely great QOL, especially for reserve bidders. As it stands right now, there isn't enough staffing/coverage to make the jump back. Of course there never may be, but pre-rona, blue days were aplenty, GS#2 was a unicorn and GS#1 often didn't make it out of the top 1/3rd of the category.

For all the reasons above <50% 7ERB was my favorite, until they ruined it with 5 day trips that were a Europe 3 day book ended with domestic days. That was truly the best of both worlds with summers in Europe and winters in the Caribbean. No more though, ahh the good ole days! The 757 is everything everybody says.

Yes all my Europe is bookended transcons. But it’s 5 day trips with 4 legs and I get to be on the west coast. So I don’t complain. Doing 4-6 JFK van rides to Manhattan for the last 6 months is exhausting. But I could always bid off the Europe and do 2 leg easy days with a long Cancun in there. Honolulu of course is easily attainable. Nice part of this fleet is the ease to bid off and do something else if you’re tired or want a break. But I do agree the bookend transcon flying can suck.

After being delayed on todays 4th leg, waiting on shuttle, dealing with no APU just to make it fun, I got to call tracking to let them know what shuttle we were going to take …. hotel arrival +10 … so there’s that fun on NBA.

Is there going to be a separate projected training and conversations document for the Sept. 15 award?

Not trying to reopen this conversation, but saw in the NY Fall Base Visit slide deck (slide 7 and 11), that we will net only a high single-digit of WB deliveries between now and the end of 24, as they are retiring some 763’s. That’s directly from Network. Not posting the internal data here.
