People have this misunderstanding about secondary vacancies because for years the company has always posted these huge excessive numbers of NBB spots that inevitably don’t get filled by bidders. A middle ground would be to require the company to fill any posted A or WWB positions. Still let them over-post NBB since that does allow recent NHs the most flexibility in getting to their desired base the fastest.

Ant thanks for the point out Tennis.....For as long as I can remember, your facts/interpretations is not what has been the mainstream mantra!

Start reading post 4529 in this thread. It was just discussed a couple of days ago.

Right, I wasn't saying unfilled A's would go to NH's, rather I was assuming that every posted A position would have enough available/qualified bidders that the company would be forced to fill what they posted. Naturally if there was an A position that no one wanted then the company would not be able to fill that position.

Good conversations, I like it! I guess I’m referring to the last AE how there were 9 ATL330B posted, and 0 DTW330B postings. When the final award came out, they only awarded backfills. Turned out to be 6 ATL330B awards and 11 DTW330B awards. So the moral of the story is, Atlanta had 9 posted openings and Detroit had 0 yet Detroit ended up nearly double the amount of awards. Kinda funny that’s all. Maybe it created too much turnover so they slashed all of the openings in Atlanta?
I noticed in the memos that they will tell you if they may or may not fill all of the posted positions. I wonder if they have to say that in advance if they plan on doing that?

On related topic of unfilled A’s going to new hires, that very stipulation is in the new UA TA.

Following up on this after looking at Octobers trips. Zero 1-days and eight 2-days. Lots of 30 hours, Lots of DHing around the system, not sure how that is "better," but I guess someone is getting what they like. Would love to see a bid packet posted with a min % of 1 and 2 days trips.
