There’s an easy solution to that. Don’t bid ATL.

Or do as quite a few that live in ATL do....... bid NYC, get better trips to give away as much as possible, pickup easy OOBWS in ATL to fill back up.

This should not be allowed in the contract, IMO. But sadly, it is.

Some kind of check on the OOBWS system is needed, like a limit of 1 or 2 per month. Exempt NH’s until they can AE to a different base. It allows for the occasional good deal, but not abusing the system. You want to fly a majority of a base’s trips? You should have to bid that base.

With the new coverage timeline, is OOBWS a day earlier now?

We should do away with all the steps and make all open time not coverable by reserves an assignment proffer in seniority order with the # balancing system.

We got it. Woe is you.
Maybe. I don’t miss my kids’ birthdays, sporting events, and I’m home every holiday though.
