Kind of makes you wonder what it takes to hold WBA somewhere OTHER than NYC as a line holder (or Reserve) with meaningful schedule control and holidays off…

Even you just admitted the 350 isn’t just going to be plugged in. Also why I laugh at the rumor it’s coming to SLC when we’ve never seen it here doing those routes.

Supposedly the bleed off AD is being fixed Q1. So who knows what the excuse will be after that.
Yeah based on what they said at a former Slc base meeting the talks of 350 are just initial talks. Has the performance but they aren’t sure it works from a networking standpoint. Also, trip builds, crew resources, etc. I think once the AD issue is fixed, the 330 is a fine plane. Maybe has a few days or week of bad performance but overall not worth changing everything over.

Keep in perspective too that between 2000-2010 we hired ~2100 pilots…or less than we hired in CY 2022 (~2300 pilots).

Point being year of hire isn’t a good barometer.

Bingo.

The post 2000/pre-2014 hire range is kinda a “gee wiz” factoid, but the use of the word “wall” with respect to DOH is meaningless with the crazy swings out SL has, IMO.

I agree. The “wall” as it’s being called is when the 2014 and later hires hit WBA. Many in that group have more than just a few years left on the sen list and movement into WBA will take more deliveries instead of just retirements from the top from 20+ years on the list already.

Could be. I see North 95 hire 330As got unstacked for Labor day though. I guess full schedule control really doesn’t kick in until age 65 :-).

also, they're going to extend 16L by about 2000' on the north side, which will provide the necessary takeoff distance, even in the 100+ degree summer heat. And with the LDS construction crews they'll use, it should get done fast.
