There are some March 2000 hires already holding NYC765A and a few junior to that were awarded NYC330A in this last AE so I guess that "wall" has fallen.

September 15th to close on the 25th fits with the mid-month pattern. They like opening on Fridays to close on Mondays. If they have issues getting it out on Friday that it all slips through the weekend.

It won’t be much smaller than the last AE. You’re right that Jan and Feb have heavier training, but that will be offset by more senior peeps bidding. I would say it’s actually a pretty predictable cadence right now. I guess since it’s working they’re likely to change it soon!

I agree there IS performance issues with the -200/300. That’s also why you have only seen -900s there since April.

I’ll say it agin, if the 330 had such big performance issues out of SLC there would’ve been a different airframe there.
It’s actually the 900’s that we’re stopping for gas with the bleed issue. I did not do a fuel stop in the 200 but we were severally load restricted on hot days. 180 passengers and zero cargo.

The -900’s were the issue as they had the bleed AD that caused fuel stops and the -200/300’s can’t do it full in the summer (same scenario, some days it can). It’s like you’re making this up to defend your opinion.

facts are the 330 does have performance issues and no they aren’t just going to slap a 350 on 3 Europe routes because of it. That’s not how networking works, at least not at a successful profitable airline.

You’re trying to hard to argue that the 330 has no issues in SLC summers when everyone knows it does. Is it a huge problem every day of the summer? No. But there’s still issues and the airline isn’t going to just plug in a fleet that can do it without extensive research with networking and crew resources.

I’d be love to be wrong about that. Having 330/350/787 bid opportunities would be great.

I never said the 330 doesn’t have performance issues. That’s not my argument at all. I just don’t buy that’s the reason a base hasn’t opened. Not when it’s the plane we are currently using out of SLC.

Even you just admitted the 350 isn’t just going to be plugged in. Also why I laugh at the rumor it’s coming to SLC when we’ve never seen it here doing those routes.

Supposedly the bleed off AD is being fixed Q1. So who knows what the excuse will be after that.
