Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

A 4 year deal would be the prime vehicle to get us to 20% in year 4. 17/18/19/20. Those not making 330K need additional funds for max contributions. I was hopeful for the MBCBP as a tax shelter but… TBD. Without knowing the polling, I don’t know if there is support for a MB but I doubt it. This would become an additional raise for those not wanting to max or already at the max contributions, which is why I suggested it. 4.5% in perpetuity locked up in an escalator would end the retro issue once and for all. A 7.25 year deal at $1.4B per year is a $10.15B dollar deal.

Interesting...
I hadn't considered your A to B scenario until I read your post. 737A to the new WB-B (A330 in my case) would be exactly the same hourly rate, $285, so there's no loss of income and potentially a great gain in QOL. With the new QOL items and the increased seniority, I could see myself on long call indefinitely and not flying much except GSs when they are available. I wasn't, but now I am considering it. There's still the TBD training schedule and Virginia Ave. hurtle but... hmmm.

A lot of pilots I’ve been flying with on the 320 are saying that the 350 isn’t even in their thoughts anymore. The 330 pays the same, has way better trips, and is a week long course. We have a lot of 320 pilots waiting it out now. It may be a great opportunity to bid the 350 for fast seniority. I bet ya the 350 new hire trend will continue for a while. 9 day trips aren’t fun when you can do a Europe turn once a week. April will be very interesting with that. Also, if the NB trips get any better (which they seem to be) then I’d guess that would attract more pilots for the mega raise. The 321N will allow for better trips. I used to be “I can’t wait to get off the NB for a WB” and now I’m considering an upgrade. Side note, anyone think we’ll get to a point where we have to “force” upgrades? Idk what the contract says about that, if anything.

Just to clarify / it’s not a one week course from 320 to 330 I think it’s still 8 or 9 events

I don't have any input on what is or isn't "fun" but the 350 will continue to offer hyper-efficiency on schedules for those who have the seniority, particularly for commuters. A lot of commuters are looking to commute only twice per month (ideally zero if they are manipulating blocks of days available----completely different topic). While the additional 330s that are coming definitely offer the potential for new places, many will forgo the "fun" in search of the 80+ hr 9-10 day schedule that allows them to look out at the window and think about how cool they are while spending the overwhelming amount of time in a month on things they want to do. A cool time to be at Delta for sure.
