Prepare yourselves… 2023 AEs

Like others have said, with the holidays coming up, I think it’s more likely that some pilots pull their bid and wait a couple months to train in January-March. I’d be surprised if people without a bid in now puts one in and bumps you out, but crazier things have happened.
Just tell me where you’re hosting your widebody award party and I’ll buy the first round! Let us know when the official award comes out if you held in there.
Love your enthusiasm, brother,
Just because all the training months (from what I saw) say November, I’m sure some of that training will be in December and OE will be flirting with Christmas.

yeah be careful… if you pull the once in a career trigger you add 2 years to your current freeze…then if you pull the 1st time Capt card, you could potentially add 2 years to that as well…

I hold international on ER and better destinations than I would on the 330. Outside of April-Sept just fly Hawaii. It’s good gig, senior FO getting everything I need off with great trips. Getting married next summer and a honeymoon, so sitting 90%’s will surely screw that up. I don’t wanna fall in that bid it then regret it later. Especially since what I’m doing now is just as fun. But long term the 330 is the goal… it’s just once your seniority pops up it makes you feel FOMO since I’ve been wanting this for a couple years lol

I'm currently a NB A in ATL, and I'm strongly considering 350 B in ATL. I could have held it on this past mock AE.
I'm hoping to spend fewer days at work per month, and I am attracted to the new and more comfortable airplane. I've snooped some schedules of guys junior to me on the 350, and they are either flying 3 day Europe trips on Tuesdays or bidding reserve and not getting used for a month or more. My wife and I live well below our means, so I'm willing to trade some pay for QOL. I flew 7ER B out of NYC for my first year here, and I really enjoyed the international flying.
My major concern is that I upgraded when I grew tired of the free unscheduled flying lessons, political diatribes, and unsolicited career and financial advice. I was an ATL NB B when I bid for upgrade. What's the culture like on the 350? Do most guys get to cruise and pull out the newspaper or a book, or is top of climb the signal to tell "junior" how he hasn't earned the right to sit in the right seat, and he should feel fortunate that the way has been paved by those magnanimous souls in the left seat?

The tone in the cockpit (and layover) is really nice. I have only had maybe 2 pilots so far talking like they were doing prime time commentary for MSNBC
