Like others have said, with the holidays coming up, I think it’s more likely that some pilots pull their bid and wait a couple months to train in January-March. I’d be surprised if people without a bid in now puts one in and bumps you out, but crazier things have happened.

Just tell me where you’re hosting your widebody award party and I’ll buy the first round! Let us know when the official award comes out if you held in there.

Love your enthusiasm, brother,

Just because all the training months (from what I saw) say November, I’m sure some of that training will be in December and OE will be flirting with Christmas.

About 71% for WB B
About 86% for NB A, in NYC of course.

anyone know the process of opting out of training (the once in a career thing) and the process with that? Currently I’ve got training scheduled for October on a new plane. If I opt out can I still have a bud submitted for this AE?

Go Flex! I hope it happens for you but it's definitely good to manage your expectations.

not sure on the process, but if you opt out you incur a 2 year seat lock on your current airframe. So unless it’s just a base change on your current plane you want, then no you cannot opt out and bid on this AE

An interesting one I saw is a 11000ish NYC ER transferring to SEA ER. Thought they were closing the base.

so the first time captain deal wouldn’t break the lock either?

Great point, I don't see anything in the language that would prevent it. Note: I'm not a lawyer or a contract expert lol.
