If he is on the up and up, what’s the problem? ALPA and JB put the same product out for free. Curly has some extra bells and whistles, and I have paid for it, but it’s not spectacular. I just find it disingenuous that we can’t have nice things (oak notes) and here we have what appears to be a blatant double standard. I think it’s worth an ask.

if WS gives me bad data the worst that happens is I screw up my bid and that’s a me problem. If oak notes gives me bad data and I screw up that happens in a DL flight deck and that’s a DL problem and leaves the door wide open for them wrt liability. That’s why the double standard.

This goes back farther and you know it. See private version of micrew (name alludes me). Micrew still isn’t the official way to check anything. ICrew is. Yet we had to disallow the private version. Anywho, I don’t care that much. Just stirring the pot on something that is rotten in the state of Denmark.

Fun fact. Micrew was created by an intern for free. It was supposed to be a nicety. But then they invested in it. Just saying.

when was this?

oaknotes vs WS makes total sense to me, but if other people are not allowed to do what curly is doing then that is a problem.

I’m curious what the background is.

If I don’t pay for Curly’s service, and he spills my full name, date of birth, hire date, employer, job title to someone who steals and exploits my identity? You better believe that’s gonna be a DL problem.

It was called CrewMax. Just remembered. It was used for years here. All we had before was iCrew so if you wanted a nice representation (basically what micrew is now is what crewmax was over 10 years ago) you used crewmax. Anywho, nobody cares until micrew came online, then IT stuff mattered. Even then delta didn’t know what they had in micrew. They invested $0 into it before they realized what that intern created was better than anything they had (see iCrew mobile, now defunct). Then, all of a sudden there is a project pilot and sums of money allocated.

Curly knows somebody. That’s the only reason he could possibly be allowed.

Yep icrew max was much better. Other airlines let them use third party apps to display their schedules and open time/see their friends' schedules. Not sure why Delta is so crazy. But then lets Curly have free reign.

Because Curly is not a 3rd party company. He is a retired Delta Seniority List pilot. Normally, (my understanding is) retirees don’t get access to SL’s anymore. But surely DL knows and has approved it. It’s nothing different than when he was active.

I get the broader point, but let’s not lose the forest for the trees here.

What’s is the point you’re making? That Curly gets a pass because it is convenient for the pilots? Hmmm. Absolute good ole boy nonsense.

Funny that retirees don’t get it, but I believe Delta Connection carrier employees have must more unrestricted access to DLNet.
