I’m sure you’ve considered the consequences of having a potentially brutal commute if the worst case “hits”. Beware FOMO, it can be blinding.

That said, if you have genuinely thought a cross country commute through, best of luck.

Lots of thought but I don’t live in a base anymore. I have some family in a couple different bases but gotta commute regardless. Now, one commute flight is 90 minutes vs 4 hours. That’ll be the part I need to think long and hard on.

flex man I agree with the others on here who love your positive attitude but one of the fastest ways to lose your ‘Flex’ would be to seat-lock into a 4 hour commute. For the many of us who enjoy reading your exuberance please think diligently before signing onto that.

Eh, my commute is 5.5. You settle in and make it work. 3 hour drive to get to airport 1 hour before departure, for a 1.5 hour commuter flight. Worst commute I’ve heard of was an Atl 88B I flew with that commuted from Hong Kong or Taiwan. Made my 5.5 seem like nothing.

So, if they say November training, would one be stupid to bid if one had vacation (primary) until the 10th. Asking for a friend…

Everyone I’ve talked to says they had their vacation liquidated with no exceptions

You can mark on your AE bid to honor all vacations. They will train around vacation unless you agree to do otherwise.

it is not mandatory that they honor it Though. They may do so if they can, but don’t have to.
