Don’t care. I would also tell NYC pilots to bid elsewhere if they want to fly pacific, Including but not limited to Hawaii.

I just think it’s absurd to bid LA, and expect to get any share of Europe, much less any balance in the name of “fairness”

the reason NYC sees HNL is because there is a direct flight JFK-HNL. I think it’s reasonable to expect to fly some Hawaii when there is a direct flight from your base.

I just want Flex's rumor about them pushing the August AE to Sept, to be right so I can bask in my righteousness about not believing them about the "monthly AEs." That would that have made it what, a 2 month run? Almost made a streak! :D. But in all seriousness, even every 6ish weeks would be a great trend.

If it happens, that’s fine. But outright demanding it, as if it’s your right, is where I (among others) draw the line.

Right?? Heck even every other month would be a big improvement from what, three a year? Haha

That sounds like the collapse of the regional model. Possible, but I'm not putting any money on it.

A couple other nuggets I remembered overnight:
- Hiring 200/mo for the reminder of this year, plan is 1600 in 2024, 1300/yr for the rest of the decade. That covers retirements and assumed 4% growth.
- Monthly AEs are working well so far for everyone involved, but don't allow much for flexibility once everything's in place. Don't bid in one AE if you need any days in the associated month off.

Wait, that would mean 4% growth every year with those numbers, right? That’s like 20,000+ pilots if my math is correct

Yep..but BK got worked up over it and made a fool of himself like he always does.

Just another comm, in a long line of embarrassing comm pieces from C016.

BK isn't talking to us. He's pandering to the CC crowd, guys like the "angry surfer dude" who makes $500k a year and flies to Australia on Tuesdays and has nothing but venom for everyone junior to him. The embarrassing C16 comms play well to that crowd, and they lap it up. Very similar to the C1 Cobras.

I don't fault them for it, I guess every segment of the group deserves a rep. You just have to understand who their targeted audience is.

Exactly my issue with it.

It just so happened BK was behind it, which should surprise no one

for a while that was even given to LAX crews. Which was kind of comical because some guys I flew with on the many times I did JFK-HNL felt that Hawaii was “our” island.

only bummer about the JFK-HNL stuff was they, in classic optimizer fashion, started making the trips crappy with going to SLC/MSP first or last and then plugging in some stupid domestic stuff. It was way better for you guys built as a pure out and back trip.
