Seems like a gamble considering the pay rates are much more specifically spelled out in the AIP as opposed to a vague point about improvements in rotation construction.

Would any NB As like to chime in with their thoughts?
I know a lot of my peers in the 14 hire bucket that I talk to are waiting to see what rotation construction improvements are before diving into the NB A. WB B will continue to go senior. I suspect the 400 and 330 to trend fairly senior going forward. A lot of folks including myself are sitting on the sidelines waiting to see if domestic returns to what it was pre-covid. I'm optimistic about SC and Reserve improvements from chatting with reps in the lounge the past few weeks, however I want to see the language and more so see how it goes this spring.

Agree with above. I’m senior NB B, waiting to see what happens with AIP rotation construction language before moving anywhere.
I’d love to move to A, but not gonna do it for crappy 3-5 day trips.
Some 1-2 day trips would be nice…oh wait, that’s about 3% of the whole bid package. 🤯🤦‍♂️🤣

In base meetings Bob said it would be similar size to last bid.

I really wouldn’t expect anything very large because of the impending seat locks that will be up in subsequent AE (making a early large bid useless), impending AIP turning into a contract, and they won’t want to shake things up aggressively with a Jan bid that will mess up the summer staffing.

just my 2c on top of what was told to ys.

To the discussion about people moving to WB’s, don’t forget the 330/350 growth in next 18-24 months. It’s pretty decent. On top of retirements in WB A category. There is still going to be a lot of openings for people to bid to and not every senior NB B is chasing the pay scale carrot. QOL triumphs that. Think this forum puts too much energy into every pilot on the next AE bids the same way I do…

Speaking with many senior Bs they are waiting for the language to be released in order to make a decision.

With that being said I think with the movement we have going anyone with a year on property should be able to hold narrow body A.

If anything, it makes sense to do the big bid right before locks pop, then a smaller one or two, to “gain” some extra time on locks that just went up.

Also, assuming the AIP eliminates the 365 bid, they may want one more bite at that apple before it gets eliminated, probably tied in to finishing the drawdown of the SEA 7ER category.

It doesn’t make sense because all you’re going to do is have massive unbid positions and stuff going super junior and conversions/training in the middle or during summer. I don’t see any logical reason to do any of that. Especially with an impending displacement after the summer.

Have not heard anything about elimination of a 365 day bid. Where is this news coming from? Wasn’t in bullets

It was not mentioned specifically but this note was in there

”reduced conversion windows”

so it might be going away, but no details yet.

I feel like that would have to be big enough to be its own bullet. But maybe I’m being too negative.
