Actually they failed by a huge margin. The goals however were ridiculous. The problem the MEC now has is walking back their promises. Goals, desires, wants, dreams and even what you actually deserve are irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what you can achieve under the NMB processes. The MEC finally had a come to Jesus moment and it appears that became clear to them. Making it clear to the pilots will be more difficult. I suspect the MEC got 99% of what the process will allow. Delays just cost the pilot group even more money going forward.

Not only that but I’m still waiting for the details on how this TA is going to address the horrible pairings we get each month. Alaska got full control of their pairing construction. The AIP has some very very vague language on improved rotation construction. Literally, poor rotations polled the number one priority for domestic pilots and none of the yes voters have addressed this. They just want their retro chump change because they are afraid of having to wait two more months because the company might retract their subpar offer. They don’t care that ALPA barely met a single one of their contract 2019 goals. Pathetic.

Are you being sarcastic? Go look at the "2019 Contract" document put out by ALPA. It is all right in there, every single area they missed on. Bullet point by bullet point. They failed on almost every single goal. I don't need to see the TA to know they failed because the AIP summary is enough details to see they failed. Do you want me to do more work for you and list them out point by point? I don't need a pro/con paper to know they failed. I read the 2019 Contract document and read the AIP summary. It is clear as day, what more do you want to see?
A lot of the consternation I hear revolves around the pillars, and the opener, and the negotiating tactics. As someone else has already stated, a lot of voters don’t care how the sausage gets made. If it satisfies your appetite, eat it. If it doesn’t, reject it. And if you don’t like the process itself, run for office, initiate recalls if needed or volunteer.

An opener is never a closer. I thought everyone knew that? Guess not.

Sure, but ALPA said DC of 25% would make us whole. What did we get? We sure aren’t very good at bargaining if DOS we are + 0%. I wouldn’t call that bargaining at all, I’d call that rolling over.

You do realize that those were “goals” more than “minimums.” In any case let’s see the Pro/Con papers and the NN’s and then we can start arguing anew.
Finally when you think of DALPAs contract publications you have to to think of them like we all think of the Pirate code - more like guidelines than actual rules:

I’ve tried fishing, but all I ever catch is a buzz. I’m good at skiing though. Amateur slalom champ. I guess I’m good at sticking it in the middle.
