Europe redeyes are so much easier. But we do have some Europe/Africa that lands later in the day (not 7am but more noon) and those are a little tougher but still you have a rest break.
I really don’t find transcon redeyes that bad either but probably because I’ve done so many Hawaii redeyes and those are by far the toughest imo. Only done 1 Asia flight and that was 4 man both ways, so 5 hour break made that cake.

For domestic redeyes it all depends where you're acclimated to also. For me living on the west coast and starting a trip with a redeye that gets in at 5 or 6am east coast time is easy because you're landing at 2-3am body clock time. But a redeye back from Hawaii I don't love because I'm landing at 5-6am body clock time. Same with redeyes to Central America. I imagine redeyes hurt way more for guys acclimated to east coast time. Finishing a trip with a redeye sucks.

Is there any reason new hires who start in July before the 22nd can't bid on the July AE? Seems like if you can, and you originally got NYC/LAX but then get something more senior on an AE, you could mostly avoid having to go to your original base. If that's the case, it seems like they'd be hurting even more in the junior bases due to monthly AEs.

So these monthly AEs are really a thing? I want to bid but I’ve got SEC season tix, so maybe wait til the Nov/Dec AE!!!! This is super nice if they keep doing this. Can kind of chill out and live your life a little bit without worrying about missing the boat for 18+ months.

Damn man. I wish I had the balls for that but I’m gonna stick the course and wait to get the bases I want. But you’ll enjoy it, no doubt. I love any international trip I have. It’s a different airline. Sleep and rhythm will take some getting use to. Different strategies for everyone. But I enjoy it so much I plan to bid over to pure intl like 330 or 350 and stay on that for a long time.
