I think this will be base dependent. The only realistic WB base for most junior captains is NYC. I’m not sure many NB captains will want to commute to a lower pay rate and similar seniority to their current category.
One thing is certain the next AEs will be very interesting

I assumed it was a matter of "here's the money, forget about Rotation Construction". But apparently we closed that section on its own merits. We'll see....

Funny enough the LAX Update was a Con paper, but actually left me feeling better about what is to come. In summary, their biggest gripe was the abandonment of Minimum Balances in the Retirement pillar. MB polled poorly, and was abandoned for good reason.
We'll see I guess. I don't like the AIP as it stands. Every single section fell short of the 2019 Contract goals as published by ALPA. IF, and that is a big if, there is retro for 2023 and strong language for pairing construction improvements I might be able to consider supporting it. I just don't see why there are so many Yes voters on here right now.

How did it fall short? Where are the pro/con papers and NNs?

So, let me get this straight while playing devils advocate, the WB FO rates that will now be close to current CA rates will have you stay put. But retro plus pay raises in this AIP (plus the 2023 no pay BS) isn’t enough for you? Sounds like it is, without factoring in the QOL gains that you will enjoy more of staying where you are.

I’m pretty sure the solid NO people outnumber the yes. Most of the people leaning yes say that they are waiting on the language. The no voters are just saying no.

Im not leaning any direction until I see language.

Are you being sarcastic? Go look at the "2019 Contract" document put out by ALPA. It is all right in there, every single area they missed on. Bullet point by bullet point. They failed on almost every single goal. I don't need to see the TA to know they failed because the AIP summary is enough details to see they failed. Do you want me to do more work for you and list them out point by point? I don't need a pro/con paper to know they failed. I read the 2019 Contract document and read the AIP summary. It is clear as day, what more do you want to see?

So much for wait until the language. I’d advise just to take a break from the keyboard and enjoy those reroutes for awhile.

Actually they failed by a huge margin. The goals however were ridiculous. The problem the MEC now has is walking back their promises. Goals, desires, wants, dreams and even what you actually deserve are irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what you can achieve under the NMB processes. The MEC finally had a come to Jesus moment and it appears that became clear to them. Making it clear to the pilots will be more difficult. I suspect the MEC got 99% of what the process will allow. Delays just cost the pilot group even more money going forward.

They didn’t miss, the large majority of pilots said stop screwing around with the min balance and get the deal done. They got what they could retirement wise and pressed on. Next contract maybe. Maybe not. This one is good enough for now pending any disastrous final language.
