Someone mentioned it earlier today and I can’t find it for some reason but DTW350 used to be at like 250 pilots per position. What happened? The only route we don’t do is DTW-PEK. We have only 140 FOs now on that. Anyone know if I’m missing something?
Edit - It’s also doing CDG now too. Not sure if they did that before COVID. I just don’t understand how we are ~65% pacific when we are doing more South Pacific than ever and all of Asia is back expect Beijing.

Besides LAX and ATL opening, DTW to PVG is only twice a week now due to China/US government restrictions. So that’s five round trips a week lost. That’s a lot of flying gone! Also, we used to do DTW-NGO on 350 that as well is gone. So all of Asia is definitely not back, not even close.

Oh no kidding so 150 ish may be a solid number for DTW then (FOs and CAs each). Thanks for the info! I remember looking through it all off and on before COVID but I was hired in 2019 so my memory isn’t very accurate

Ha, I feel like lots of ATL based pilots forget about every other base. Like on the Widget FB page when you see a post that just says something like, "the trains are down, plan accordingly." No base or any identifying information whatsoever lol.

still don’t understand why we cut NGO all together though

I think people are going to regret this whole virtual business thing. Those who are willing to meet in person should win at the end of the day. Also, have you seen an interview with zoom on TV? Even big time companies like CNBC and ESPN have the worst time with virtual interviews. Every other word is cut out and it just looks so unprofessional. Businesses need to meet in person and travel. A lot of companies are realizing that thank God!

I know it was a route specific for the auto industry to connect the motor city with some company in Japan. Maybe Toyota? My guess is they figured they can just do things virtually now and don’t need to fly as much. Sad.
